posted Mar 13, 2013, 12:43 PM by Dicia Kemp
Children’s Law Center's has a new Special Education Advocacy Program. With the generous assistance of Randy Chapman of The Legal Center, we have just trained a new group of qualified and dedicated pro bono attorneys, and they are ready to take cases!
 Accepting referrals for parents or guardians in any case where the parent/guardian needs help advocating for their child's special education needs. Priority will go to cases where the parent/guardian is low-income, and the case meets one or more the following criteria:

- The student is out of school or in an online school, and the parent seeks to return the child to a less restrictive setting;
- The student’s disability is SIED/SED (emotional disability) and behavioral issues are a main area of concern;
- The student is in high school and at risk of failing to meet graduation requirements and/or have the skills to live independently.
To make a referral, call (303-692-1165), and ask for Gloria Alaniz, and/or leave a message on the general line stating you have a special education concern.
